BDWM started in 2009 as a one-man-company that creates websites. While there is a lot of work in this sector, and I could have easily lived my life just sticking to that, I soon realised that I wanted to broaden my professional horizon. So I went into app, plugin and game development, booking a couple of modest successes.
After my girlfriend and I bought our first house in august 2021, I learned how satisfying it is to actually work with real world stuff. Plumbing, electronics, gardening, carpentry, … all these things I didn’t know anything about sparked my creative sparkler, and I got hooked. I’m not a handyman by nature but I’m eager to learn, especially when I notice that I don’t have a talent for something. So after some failed attempts (picture 1) and a couple of successes (not picture 1), I decided it was time to offer my limited skills to other people as well.
I still had a lot to learn, so my first couple of assignments included working for my good friend Giles Duinslager. Giles is the owner of Details design, and is a fantastic craftsman, so I figured this would be the easiest and quickest way to learn.
