Valdez Museum

One of the biggest projects I have done so far, and I’m pretty proud of it. This website, developed for the Valdez Museum in Alaska was created from the ground up in WordPress, under the supervision of Sound Web Solutions.

The biggest challenges in this project where:

  • The Gold Rush Database – A database consisting of over 8,000 records with names of people who settled in Valdez around 1900. This database was originally a slow MS Access Database, but was seamlessly integrated in WordPress as a custom post type by BDWM.
  • Full Responsive – A Lot of effort was put into the development of the mobile version of the site, with a stunning website on both mobile devices and 27 inch screens as a result.
  • Online Store – The online store was created with WooCommerce, a free WordPress plugin that alows to create beautiful, professional and secure online shops.

I really enjoyed working with the people from Sound Web Solutions, and there are more mid-sized projects like this in the pipeline which I will be working on with this friendly and highly professional Alaskan firm.
